Ratelift

For accountants and bookkeepers · Xero

Put this year's price rise through your clients' Xero repeating invoices

If you look after clients on Xero, Ratelift changes the prices on their repeating invoices for them: by a percentage or a fixed amount, with rounding, and a line-by-line preview before anything is written. It works the same way on your own fee billing: a practice, a company secretary or a payroll bureau can put its own annual rise through every client at once.

Working across your clients

Sign in with the Xero login you already use for your clients and tick the ones you want. Connect as many as you look after; there's no charge per client and no subscription. Each client's jobs and history are kept separate.

Trying it

Every client's first job, up to five templates, is free, so you can try it on a real file at no cost. After that, each job is priced by its size and paid at the time. The pricing page has the bands. Or see it work first on the sample demo, with nothing connected.

If something is wrong

A price rise can be undone free for 7 days.

Moving fees into Xero

Bringing a client's, or your own, fee book into Xero from Sage or a spreadsheet? Ratelift imports repeating invoices from a CSV file as drafts, so nothing goes out until you approve it. The import guide shows how.

Two things to know

  • Ratelift is not yet on the Xero App Store. You connect through Xero's own sign-in, and Ratelift never sees a client's Xero password.
  • Dates are Xero's rule. Xero bills a repeating invoice for every period since its start date, so a new template that started in the past would invoice your client for all of it at once. Ratelift starts each new template on its next invoice date, and leaves alone any due in the next two days, so Xero cannot invoice a client twice.

You'll be asked to choose which Xero organisation to connect.

Accountants ask us

Can I recommend Ratelift to clients?

Yes. A client can connect their own Xero organisation, or you can run the job for them from the Xero login you already use for their books.

Is it safe to use on a client's book?

Every change is previewed line by line before it is written, and every new template is checked field by field after it is made, before the old one is removed. A change is refused when a template's next invoice is due within two days, and after each run Ratelift reads Xero's invoice list and shows anything the changed templates have raised. A price rise can be undone free for 7 days.

Can I try it without a client's file?

Yes. The sample demo has 32 repeating-invoice templates on an invented business and connects nothing. Xero's own Demo Company works too.

Does it work with clients outside the UK?

Yes. Ratelift works with any Xero organisation: tax follows the client's Xero file (VAT, GST or none), and fees are charged in pounds, US, Australian or New Zealand dollars according to where the organisation is.
