What Ratelift does

Ratelift updates the amounts on Xero repeating invoice templates you select, at your instruction. Because Xero's API has no in-place edit, each update is built to create a replacement template, check it, and only then remove the original. A finished price change can be undone from its run report, free, for 7 days after the run finishes; after that it can be reversed from the report as a new job, priced like any other. An undo or a reverse is itself a run that you preview and confirm: it puts back the price each template had before the run, on the template as it is now, and leaves out any template deleted or changed in Xero, or changed by a later run, since then. Ratelift is built to change only repeating invoice templates in your Xero organisation; it has no function that edits, deletes or voids an invoice Xero has already issued. Creating a repeating template, however, is something Xero acts on: if a template's start date were in the past, Xero would raise an invoice for every period since. Ratelift is therefore built to start every replacement template on its next invoice date, to refuse a change when that date is today, already past or within two days, and after each run to read Xero's invoice list and show you any invoice the templates it touched had raised by then; if that check cannot be completed, the run report says so. Please still check Sales → Invoices in Xero after a run, and tell us at once if you see anything unexpected. Attachments on a template do not carry over to the replacement. The preview is built to flag this for each template before you confirm.

Your responsibilities

Ratelift is for business use only. By connecting an organisation you confirm that you are using Ratelift wholly or mainly for the purposes of a trade, business, craft or profession (your own, or your client's as their bookkeeper, accountant or other agent) and not as a consumer. Connect only Xero organisations you are authorised to manage. If you are a bookkeeper, accountant or other agent, you confirm you have your client's authority to connect their organisation and change their templates. Review the preview before confirming a run: the preview is free and shows every line, and Ratelift is built to write nothing to Xero until you confirm. Check the run report afterwards; anything needing attention is highlighted. Where a template fails, Ratelift is built not to remove its original; if a failure in a run leaves two copies of a template in Xero, the run report shows it as needing attention, so that one copy can be removed before its next invoice date. An undo or a reverse is a run like any other, so the same applies to it.

The operator, and a new service

Ratelift was run by its founder, Richard Strickland, personally until 4 October 2026. From that date Aragon Software Ltd is the operator. Anything arising before that date remains his responsibility under the terms in force at the time.

Ratelift is a new service and is not yet certified for the Xero App Store. We may change or withdraw features as it develops. Your templates and issued invoices are kept in your Xero organisation, not by Ratelift, so closing Ratelift would not remove them. If we decide to wind the service down, we intend to tell you first and to keep report downloads available for at least 30 days, unless something outside our control, such as Xero ending our access to its API, prevents it.

Fees

You pay per job (a price change or an import) by the number of templates the preview shows the job will write to Xero, at the band prices published on the pricing page. The fee is shown on the preview before you confirm, and again on Stripe's payment page, and is taken by Stripe before the run: for a paid job, Ratelift is built to write nothing to Xero until the payment has completed. No VAT is charged while Aragon Software Ltd is not VAT-registered. Previews, the forecast and exports are free, and so is undoing a run within 7 days of it finishing; reversing a run after that is a new job, priced like any other.

If any template fails Ratelift's own check after the run, the whole fee for that job is refunded to the card you paid with. Ratelift is built to make that refund automatically; if Stripe cannot make it, we make it by hand as soon as we know. If every template passes, the job is complete and the fee is not refundable. The fee is for the job. A template that Xero refuses, or that Ratelift skips because it changed in Xero after the preview or is too close to its next invoice date, is shown on the run report and is not refunded automatically; email us if you think a refund is due. Your first job of up to five templates is free. Organisations that connected before 6 October 2026 and complete a first job are founding organisations and pay nothing until 31 March 2027; the founding offer is closed to organisations connecting from that date. Prices may change with notice; the fee you see at preview is the fee you pay. How refunds and cancellations work is set out on the refunds and cancellations page.

Liability

We built Ratelift around preview, field-by-field verification, automatic holds on imminent billing dates, a post-run check of Xero's invoices, and undo. A fault on 16 September 2026 raised back-dated invoices on a pilot user's organisation; it is described on the Updates page. The refusal of changes within two days of a template's next invoice, and the post-run check of Xero's invoices, were added because of it. We will provide Ratelift with reasonable care and skill. Our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms, whether in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to £100,000 for all claims arising in any 12-month period. The same limit applies to claims under our data processing terms. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud. You remain responsible for your own billing decisions and for reviewing changes before confirming them.

How we handle your data (what we access, store, where it lives, and how to have it deleted) is set out in the privacy policy. Our data processing terms (ratelift.app/dpa) form part of these terms and govern the personal data in your Xero organisation that we process for you. Disconnecting ends the access your sign-in gave us; anyone else in your organisation who connected Ratelift disconnects separately.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Ratelift is operated by Aragon Software Ltd, trading as Ratelift, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16894019, registered office 25 King Street, Bristol BS1 4PB. “We”, “us” and “Ratelift” in these terms mean that company.
