Refunds and cancellations
The short version. You pay for a job before it runs. If any template fails Ratelift's own check after the job, the whole fee is refunded. If every template passes, the job is complete and the fee is not refundable. You never owe Ratelift money afterwards, and Ratelift never sees your card.
What you pay for
Ratelift charges a one-off fee per job (a price run or an import) based on the number of templates the preview shows the job will write to Xero. The fee is shown on the preview page before you confirm, in pounds, with no VAT while Aragon Software Ltd is not VAT-registered. Current fees are on the pricing page and may change with notice; the fee you see at preview is the fee you pay.
Your first job with Ratelift is free (it is limited to five templates so you can see exactly what Ratelift does to a real book). Organisations that connected before 6 October 2026 and complete a first job are founding organisations and pay nothing until 31 March 2027; the founding offer is closed to organisations connecting from that date.
Paying
Payment is taken by Stripe, on its own payment page, before the job runs and before anything is written to Xero. Stripe handles your card details; Stripe tells Ratelift that the payment succeeded, with a reference number, and shows us the email address and billing details you gave it, which we do not keep. If the payment does not complete, the job does not run: Ratelift is built to write nothing to Xero until the payment has completed.
Automatic refunds
After every job, Ratelift reads each template back from Xero and checks it against the preview. If any template fails that check, the full fee for the job is refunded, and you do not need to ask. Ratelift is built to make that refund automatically; if Stripe cannot make it, we make it by hand as soon as we know. The refund is issued by Stripe to the card you paid with, normally within 5–10 working days depending on your bank, and the job report shows “refunded” next to the fee.
When there is no refund
If every template passes the check, the job is complete and the fee is not refundable. That includes a job you no longer want after it has run. You can undo a price change from its run report, free, for 7 days after it finishes: that puts back the price each template had before the run. After 7 days you can reverse it from the report as a new job, priced like any other. Either way, the original job's fee stands.
The fee is for the job. A template that Xero refuses, or that Ratelift skips because it changed in Xero after the preview or is too close to its next invoice date, is shown on the run report and is not refunded automatically; email us if you think a refund is due.
Cancelling
There is nothing to cancel: Ratelift has no subscription, no minimum term and no stored payment method. Disconnecting Ratelift from Xero takes effect immediately and can be done from the dashboard or from Xero's connected apps page. Data retention after disconnection is described in the privacy notice.
Something else
If a job went wrong in a way the automatic check did not catch, or a payment was taken and no job ran, email hello@ratelift.app with the job reference from your report. Richard reads every message.
